The "School Defenders" are gathering

It has become apparent that given various factors our schools need to be defended and improved. One of our principal methods of defense at the moment needs to be legal action and dissemination of relevant data and information to guide the Seattle School Board and naturally fund raising for legal fees.

It should be noted that many community organizations are silent at this critical time when schools need to be defended. Several school defenders are active while many organizations are silent.

If you would like to organize a "fund raiser" please make contact here.

I shall be organizing a voluntary organization known as the "School Defenders".

Our first focused mega-action will be to defend Seattle Schools by exerting pressure through multiple coordinated smaller actions to significantly improve decision-making in the Seattle Public Schools during March and April.

A large and "laser focused" (one of MGJ's favorite phrases) coming action will be the filing of a Writ of Mandamus with the Washington State Supreme Court (coming 3-26-10).

Smaller actions include defense of the Judge Julie Spector decision of 2-04-2010 which found that "Four School Board members" (C. Chow, Steve Sundquist, P. Maier, S. Carr) acted "Arbitrarily and Capriciously" on May 6, 2009 in voting to approve the "Discovering" series as the Seattle High School math adoption. As well as current ongoing opposition to proposed NTN contract approval on 4-7-10.
